about me

i play with words.

i listen to them. i question them. i experiment with them.

words are portals.

m.c. deerwood is a channel, an entity that resides in the void. deerwood reflects my own journey, a childhood memory and a reminder that reflection leads to transformation.

as a poet practitioner and multimedia artist, i weave analog and digital media with poetry and storytelling. since a child, i’ve written poetry, crafted stories, and journaled to explore my inner world in the midst of isolation and instability. my journey includes over 7 years in the entertainment industry, where i worked as a video producer/editor in marketing. these experiences contribute to my current creative work, which blends visual and poetic forms to inspire reflection and transformation in others.

through every piece of art i create, my purpose is clear: to remind you of the creative spark that already resides within you. to recognize me is to recognize you.

i offer my work, my perspective, and my creative energy not only as a mentor but as a collaborator. if you're interested in exploring your own creative journey or collaborating on a project, i'd love to connect.

FAQs

what is a poet practitioner?

as a poet practitioner, i go beyond simply reciting poetry. while poetry itself is inherently transformative and vital, i take it a step further by actively engaging with the concepts and emotions behind the words. i create a space where individuals can explore their thoughts and feelings through broad, relatable concepts that encourage connection both within themselves and with the world around them. my role as a practitioner is to guide others toward a deeper understanding of their innate creativity and inner wisdom, helping them recognize and tap into their own transformative power. through poetry, multimedia art, and thoughtful reflection, i spark moments of insight that empower people to connect, create, and grow on their own terms.
